daca john cassavetes ar fi fost englez, asta e filmul pe care l-ar fi regizat.

sa-l compari pe mike leigh cu compatriotul sau ken loach e ca si cum ai incerca sa compari un ceai britanic cu un suc la dozator intr-un pahar de platic, servit la piata din crangasi (no offence pentru locuitorii cartierului respectiv).

nu stiu daca merita palme d'or in detrimentul lui breaking the waves, crash sau fargo, dar nu ti-e rusine cu un asemenea film. poti sta lejer in compania lor (si asta o spune un mare fan al lui von trier:D )

pentru mine de departe revelatia anului, singurul film caruia ii dau lejer 5/5

i'm on fire, everyboy's on fire

cohen statea nu tocmai bine mersi in chelsea hotel. cum gandurile negre il urmareau obsesiv, gasise o solutie in care-si aprindea tot felul de lumanarele prin camera. omul mai pleca si la o plimbare prin urbe, dar focul din camera lui era permanent intretinut, motiv pentru care conducerea era recalcitranta (;) si domnul cu palarie si haina de ploaie era amenintat permanent cu evacuarea.
in acelasi timp, in hotel mai statea si o domnisoara pe numele sau edie. cohen se mai ducea pe la ea si era f. nemultumit de feng-shui-ul din camera. cica nu erau bine aranjate, karma iesea pe minus in loc de plus si pericolul de incendiu era marisor spre imens...
la un moment dat hotelul a luat foc.
